Embden, Drishaus & Epping Consulting GmbH

Embden, Drishaus & Epping Consulting GmbH (E.D.E. Consulting), is the consultancy and daughter company of Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung and thus the implementing arm of our foundation, running the majority of our sustainable agriculture projects globally. E.D.E. Consulting has offices in Asia and Africa and headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. It is the only consulting company with state-of-the-art expertise in all areas of sustainable coffee.

While E.D.E. Consulting is a for-profit organisation, all potential profits objectively benefit the not-for-profit work of Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung.

E.D.E. Consulting´s approach is focussed on the coffee sector and covers all areas relevant to producers as well as to all stakeholders. With over 50 projects conducted over the past 17 years E.D.E.Consulting offers a unique experience in devising and running sustainable agriculture projects in coffee and other tropical crops like cocoa and nuts.

What sets E.D.E. Consulting apart is

  • the unique expertise in one particular sector, namely coffee
  • its global network enabling E.D.E. Consulting to serve clients in any coffee producing region worldwide
  • the ability to perform as an interface function between commercial interests and the development agenda for the benefit of producers
  • its access to the global knowledge base and infrastructure of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe.

Says Jorge Tiemeier, General Manager of E.D.E. Consulting: "Our partners appreciate our hands-on approach. We work with farmer and farmer organisations at grass-root level. They are our partners as much as our clients. With our business oriented approach we create win-win-win situations between farmers, our private sector clients and development agencies. The way we primarily achieve this is by strengthening producers´ competitiveness, which helps them improve their economic situation while offering better coffee to our commercial partners as well as providing impulses in rural sustainable development relevant to public donors."
