Hanseatische Natur- und Umweltinitiative
The "Hanseatische Natur- und Umweltinitiative" (english: Hanseatic Nature and Environment Initiative), in short HNUI, is one of the focus areas of the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung. The idea of this initiative is the collection of subsidies to support projects according to its strategic priorities.
Via the HNUI, the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung is encouraging sustainable projects dedicated to the protection of nature and environment. Main aim of our work is to subsidize ecological awareness, especially among children and youths. We consider credibility and trust among all the involved as indispensable for the success of our activities. Therefore, we highly value professionalism, responsibility and transparency.
As of 2008, all activities of the HNUI were taken over by the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung, while before they have been steered by the HNUI e.V.. This non-profit association was founded in 1994 and continues existing as support association for the initiative. It consists of ca. 130 members, most of them being employees and member companies of the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe. The Environment Committee is the executing institution for all activities and the management of the subsidies. Conferences take place on a regular basis, in which the Environment Committee discusses which applications for subsidy can be approved, and which do not comply with our objectives and priorities.
