Hamburg, June 7^th, 2010 - First COTECA trade fair in Hamburg! Long weekend for the HRNS team: together with the colleagues from the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe, the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung benefited of participating in the very first trade fair uniting the sectors coffee, tea and cocoa in one single fair. Sharing a booth with the NKG, HRNS was present at all three days, both representing the organization within the exhibition and taking part in the conference realized next to the fair.

Michael Opitz was invited to hold a speech on the topic of "Economic aspects of Climate Change", and was focusing in his presentation on the impact that chaotic weather patterns and volatile prices might have at farmer level. Through modeling on the basis of farmer field book data it gets obvious that trained farmers have a much better chance of successfully coping with the challenges associated with climate change by adapting their production system.
