Hamburg, December21st, 2011 – Even in the 21^st century, women in the coffee sector do not have the same opportunities as men. They lack access to essential resources such as land, education and finance and are often not adequately involved in decision making. Yet, we cannot miss out on their contributions.

In order to address these gender disparities, Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung and the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) have formed a strategic alliance on December 15^th 2011.

Joining forces with IWCA will allow us to further strengthen support to women, enabling them to more actively participate in both, the development of households and communities as well as operations in the coffee supply chain.
