PPP Initiatives and partner projects

Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung works intensively with private sector partners, primarily coffee roasters who want to contribute sustainable development within the coffee sector and want to link up with donor and governmental development organisations in this context. The foundation sees a focus of its work in bringing together private sector partners, public sector partners (donors) and both governmental and non-governmental organisations. We set up and run projects for these partners as Private Public Partnerships with the aim of benefitting coffee producers.

A few examples of such collaborations illustrate the approach:

Coffee Drying in Fagundes, Santo Antônio do Amparo, Brazil

Fortalecimento da Caficultura a Familiar- Força Café, Santo Antônio do Amparo, Brazil
This project, conducted in partnership with the Canadian roaster Tim Hortons and GTZ as well as the Brazilian Extension Service EMATER and other local organisations, aims at strengthening family business in coffee production. It is part of the roaster's long-term commitment to improving conditions for producer communities. Building upon the company's outstanding work within the Tim Hortons Children Foundation in Canada a special focus is put on the situation of children and youngsters in the project area.
