The primary objective of projects supported by the Lavazza Foundation is helping coffee producers to improve the yield and quality of their products. To achieve that, beneficiaries receive agricultural best practices training and are encouraged to develop their entrepreneurial skills.

Lavazza was founded in Turin in 1895 by Luigi Lavazza. The business of Lavazza is currently administered by the third and fourth generations of the Lavazza family. The Giuseppe e Pericles Lavazza Onlus Foundation, founded in 2004, promotes and implements economic, social and environmental sustainability projects, to support coffee-producing communities around the world. To achieve meaningful results, the Foundation undertakes development projects in partnership with public and private bodies, international organizations and NGOs. It is only through teamwork that the living conditions in coffee-producing communities can be effectively improved. HRNS is cooperating with Lavazza Foundation in the C.A.F.E. project in Ethiopia. Together they are active also in Brazil, India and Tanzania.
