Now more than ever before, #theallianceforresilientcoffee partners are committed to finding solutions for Ugandan farmers to strengthen their resilience to the impacts of #climatechange and improve their livelihoods.

The Feed the Future Alliance for Resilient Coffee (ARC) project works to address the effects of climate change on smallholder coffee growing families across the globe. In Uganda, the active ARC consortium members have combined their expertise to develop tools and practices that small-scale coffee farmers can take up in order to increase their resilience to climate change. Together we are united by the importance of addressing the threat that climate change poses to the global coffee supply chain and the urgency of the private sector to get involved.

Watch, to learn more about the ARC project activities in Uganda!

This #COVID19 crisis shows us the importance of investments into smallholder coffee farmers livelihood situation.

HRNS works in rural farming communities that often lack proper access to healthcare, information and sanitation materials. Farmers are also in great need of receiving technical assistance to ensure crop cycles and financial stability, making them specifically vulnerable during this time.

Together, and as a global team, our staff remains active and committed to smallholder farming families around the world. Our support continues as we find new channels, acquire corresponding knowledge on technology and remote training formats to reach farmers as efficiently as possible.

In times of Coronavirus as the currently biggest challenge, we should not forget about climate change. Climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and affects millions of smallholder coffee farmers around the world. It threatens the future of coffee farmers, their families, and their communities whose livelihood is deeply intertwined with coffee production.

Today on Earth Day, we don’t only recognize the challenges, but support the collaborative climate action taking place around the world so we can continue to tackle our current climate crisis and restore our planet.

Let us come together, now, more than ever, to make our planet greener and healthier. Me might be small, but our impact is colossal. Happy Earth Day!
