International Coffee Partners (ICP) is an initiative founded by five leading European coffee companies, Gustav Paulig Ltd. of Finland, Löfbergs Lila of Sweden, Luigi Lavazza S.p.A. of Italy, Neumann Gruppe GmbH of Germany and Tchibo GmbH of Germany in 2001. In 2011, Joh. Johannson Kaffe AS of Norway joined the partnership and in 2014, Franck d.d. of Croatia also joined. As of July
1st 2018, Delta Cafés of Portugal joined the partnership as well and ever since its founding in 2001, Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung has acted as manager and implementing agent of all the project activities this initiative enabled.
ICP’s approach to development is business-oriented. ICP believes in entrepreneurship, asks for
commitment of the farmers they work with, and want to enable them to improve their livelihood. Sustainability is more than reputation management and philanthropy. Following the definition agreed by the World Commission on Environment and Development, “sustainable development is a development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Current projects of ICP are active in Brazil, Trifinio, Indonesia, Tanzania
