We are convinced that with cooperation and a common agenda with our partners we will achieve our goals. Joint impact is one of our utmost priorities, and long-term partnerships with both private and public sector players are crucial to bringing about real change.
Since the beginning of our operations, we have aspired to find like-minded organizations that share our values and our idea of sustainability in the coffee sector. Over time, strong alliances and initiatives have grown from these partnerships. We would not have achieved the same results without our partners’ drive and pro-activity. We are sincerely thankful for this exchange of ideas and the mutual development of concepts, and are looking forward to many years to come.
Some examples of our partnerships:
International Coffee Partners is an initiative of seven leading European coffee companies, Franck d.d. of Croatia, Gustav Paulig Ltd. of Finland, Joh. Johannson Kaffe AS of Norway, Löfbergs Lila AB of Sweden, Luigi Lavazza S.p.A. of Italy, Neumann Gruppe GmbH of Germany and Tchibo GmbH of Germany. It was established in 2001 and ever since, we have acted as manager and implementing agent of all the project activities this initiative enabled.
Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) is the world's leading green coffee service group. With 46 companies in 28 countries, NKG is present in all important markets and offer a broad range of quality services and products along the green coffee value chain. Our relationship to the NKG is at arm's length: not only do we share roots and the location of headquarters, but our know-how and expertise complement each other. We are happy that NKG supports our activities in many of our projects.
Coffee Kids started operating as an independently run program of Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung North America in 2015. The organization partners with communities to foster the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit needed to protect the future of coffee farming. Founded in 1988, Coffee Kids was the first nonprofit within the budding specialty coffee industry dedicated solely to improving coffee farmers’ quality of life. In the 27 years since Coffee Kids’ inception, we have partnered with over 200,000 coffee-farming families in over 400 communities, and a generous base of supporters from both within and outside of the coffee industry to empower farmers to improve their lives and livelihoods.
The Mesa de Café Trinacional (MCT) is an initiative which was born initially out of the close cooperation between us as Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung and the Trifinio Commission. The concrete and positive results of the programs of International Coffee Partners and Tim Hortons motivated farmers, governments and coffee institutions to make use of the experiences in a more strategic manner and strengthen the coffee growing region of Trifinio in a concerted and strategic effort. With the support of programs such as RUTA/USAID and Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the MCT has been further formalised and is now a widely accepted platform for facilitating dialogue and practical programs.
In 2010, key players from the private, development, and research sectors joined forces to address challenges posed to the entire coffee value chain by changing climatic conditions. They founded the initiative for coffee & climate (c&c) as a development partnership with the vision to enable all coffee-farming families worldwide to effectively respond to climate change. From the beginning, we have been a key implementer and driving force in the development of this initiative.
