Founded by Alexandra and Thomas Friese, at the Entenwerder Elbpiraten children and young people from disadvantaged districts in Hamburg get the opportunity to extracurricular activities in nature. With the partnership of the local Fritz Köhne school and others, children are able to participate in holiday-camps during the summer, sailing, day trips and experiments. In addition, there is also a winter care which ensures activities for the children throughout the year. While playing and learning together, the children’s interests in the environment and science are awakened and a responsible behavior regarding their surroundings is being encouraged. Heavy emphasis is laid on team building, physical exercise, and proactivity. HRNS has been working together with Entenwerder Elbpiraten since 2016.
