Coffee of tomorrow: “Now we focus on farming as a business," says Nkuyu Coffee Group Chairperson Juhudi in Southern #Tanzania. With support from @CatholicRelief the @HRNStiftung office implements a gender project among rural youth.

IDH's Tessa Meulensteen was interviewed by the @PerfectDailyG, sharing insights on how coffee producers can prepare for changing climate. Read the whole interview here:

You usually wouldn't associate #genderequality with #coffee farming.
But we do.
See why:

Join us next week at @sintercafe_cr for a breakfast on youth integration in #coffee. Presentations by @HRNStiftung, @SustHarv, and @EqualOrigins. Let us know if you can make it! Friday 7:15 am. @hivos @IDB_Lab @JavaVenturer @JavieRivas6

Get involved with our program @coffeekids during this years #givingtuesday and empower the next generation of coffee farmers.

Young people are the backbone of thriving rural communities, which is why we are empowering them to explore their potential and create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.
Step by…

In #Tanzania, women play a vital role in #coffee production yet men are usually responsible for deciding how to spend the profits. That’s why CRS & @HRNStiftung promote #genderequality & joint decision making among the couples in our coffee program.

Meet our HRNS climate experts at @sintercafe_cr next week! Stefan Ruge, project manager of the Alliance for Resilient Coffe(ARC) and Javier Rivas, ARC Regional Coordinator for CA will attend! They're bringing the latest climate research and solutions to make coffee climate smart!

During last week's Training of Trainers, led by @HRNStiftung and @CafedeGuatemala, the technicians learned how to use diverse tools to grasp a better understanding of the issues farms face. @IDB_Lab

In partnership with @safe_platform and @CafedeGuatemala we are conducting an extensionist training workshop, also known as Train of Trainers with a focus on #coffee and #climate. As part of the workshop, a tour of Western Honduras on climate adaptation and mitigation took place.

Winners! For the first time, two women coffee farmers won in the categories “Semi - Washed” and “Natural” during the 6th Força Café Coffee Quality Championship in Brazil!!! Of the 20 awarded smallholder farming families, five were women! Congratulations!! 👏

@CatholicRelief @HRNStiftung Thanks to support from @HRNStiftung, men & women in the community now share in all aspects of #coffee production. Couples jointly plan their budgets and decide how to use their income. Cooperation is flourishing in both farming & household management.

During a Training of Trainers led by @HRNStiftung & @CafedeGuatemala in Esquipulas, participants create a timeline to reflect on how climate change and natural phenomenons have affected their producing regions.

@CatholicRelief The Kahawa ya Kesho—or “#Coffee of Tomorrow”—program is a five-year initiative aimed at increasing livelihood and #entrepreneurial opportunities for 450 rural youth from the ages of 18 to 35 in coffee-producing communities in the Southern Highlands of #Tanzania. @HRNStiftung

Our team in #Brazil hosts the 6th annual Força Café Coffee Quality Championship. 10 jury members from Germany, the US and Brazil cup 64 finalist #coffee lots. With the contest, importers and roasters recognize the efforts of smallholder families to produce specialty coffee.

The communication experts of @coffee_partners shareholders are dedicated to tell the stories of the smallholder coffee farmer families we support. At @_DeltaCafes_ in Portugal they planned how to do that in 2020. @Lofbergs @Lavazza @PauligFi @Tchibo_presse @HRNStiftung

“Since 2010, the initiative for coffee & climate (c&c) implements its vision to enable coffee farmers worldwide to adapt to climate change.” via @HRNStiftung

Will you be attending @sintercafe_cr? If so, join us on Nov. 15 for a breakfast that focuses on experiences integrating youth in coffee. @EqualOrigins, @HRNStiftung, and @SustHarv will share challenges they've faced and tips on how to make this possible.
